Traditions (Christmas)

One of the most importand holidays in Estonia are Christmas. Preparing for Christmas begins at the beginning of December. The most important day is Christmas Eve. Santa visits families with small children. Families get together and eat Christmas meal.

Estonians don`t go to church very often but at Christmas time many people go to church.

The traditional Christmas meal consists of blood sausages with jam of cranberries or pumpkin salad, sauerkraut, cooked pork and cooked potatoes.
